My two daughters have taken piano from Sonia since they were in kindergarten. My oldest is now in 8th grade and still continues to love playing piano. I cannot say enough positive things about Sonia and her teaching methods. The lab component, in addition to the lesson, really keeps things interesting. Additionally, Sonia's positive reinforcement through the point system and other incentives help to develop a positive learning environment so that my kids enjoy piano (and even practicing). Sonia challenges her students, is positive and is encouraging; this helps her students grow to their greatest potential. When we have had struggles Sonia has worked with us to help our kids to continue to love music. I have known many friends whose children have taken lessons from Sonia and all have enjoyed her as a piano teacher. Sonia is truly unique among piano teachers.

We have been so pleased with the musical education that my granddaughter has been receiving by taking piano lessons with Sonia. Students are expected to give their best efforts but there is not undue pressure - just encouragement toward excellence. She is not only learning to play well but also is exposed to the various aspects of music - history, theory, composition, styles, eras, etc. For the past 2 years, we have also been a part of the summer camps which have a nice variety of activities that teach as well as entertain.
